Mobile Sight Centre

Operating a free drop-in service visually impaired people and their carers, along with the wider community are invited to join us on board our Mobile Sight Centre for the support they need.

No matter what sight loss information you are seeking our trained Information Officer Malcolm Greenway can provide you with expert advice and information about sight related issues as well as talk to you about other NAB Services. Maybe you want information about another local or national organisation that can provide assistance? Malcom, along with all of our Community Support Workers can put visitors in touch with these organisations or in some cases make direct referrals on your behalf.

On board our Mobile Sight Centre you will find  a variety of equipment designed to help alleviate the everyday difficulties visually impaired people encounter. Malcolm can demonstrate aids to help with reading and writing, cooking, telling the time, large print items and many more. Unfortunately we can’t stock everything, especially larger items but we do have various catalogues and can direct you to our Kettering and Northampton Sight Centres or order them in.

Our Mobile Sight Centre makes regular scheduled visits to towns and villages across Northamptonshire, as well as some GP Surgeries and Library’s. Every month we visit Northampton, Brackley, Daventry, Towcester, Corby and Wellingborough.

We also organise regular talks and demonstrations to care homes and sheltered housing, day centres and community groups so if this would be of interest to you, please call our Helpline: 01604 719193.

When will we be in a town near you?
