Conveniently located in Kettering town centre, our Sight Centre has been supporting the local visually impaired community for over six years, operating a drop-in facility during it’s opening hours to those in need of support. Our Sight Centre Manager Isobel Lambley is able to offer advice and information on matters relating to sight loss plus we have a range of information booklets on relevant subjects for you to take away and can sign-post to other organisations who can help.
You will find a good range of specialist aids and equipment on display at Kettering Sight Centre to “try and buy”. Designed to make the day-to-day activities of daily life for people with visual impairments a little easier, our most popular items include talking watches, big button telephones, lighting and magnification.
Regular Groups and friendship are on offer at Kettering Sight Centre
Our Sight Centre Manager Isobel Lambley organises a busy monthly schedule of interest and activity groups including a Book Club, Knit and Natter Group (new) and Relaxation. We organise special games and quiz afternoons and our outings to local tea rooms or garden centres are always popular.
Our computer suite plays host to our weekly Technology Support Group, where we can introduce you to the computer & extend your skills no matter what your abilities or sight loss are. We have a number of computers with speech & magnification programmes installed plus we also encourage participants to bring along their laptops or tablets to learn new skills (wifi available).
