How YOU can help

Volunteering Opportunities.

Wardington Court Activity Centre – hosts many activities, support groups and social functions where volunteer help is always welcome. In particular there is always a desperate need for volunteer drivers for our small fleet of minibuses, which between the three of them cover over 47,000 miles each year.

Volunteer drivers are given MiDAS (Minibus Drivers Awareness Scheme) training by our qualified MIDAS instructor at Wardington Court.

If you think you would like to help in this way please telephone 01604 791333.

Library service – volunteers help visually impaired people choose ‘Talking Book’ titles, return tapes and ensure that users are satisfied with the ‘Sound Read’ service. It could entail visiting visually impaired people in their home or making contact over the telephone. This type of work is usually done once a month and only involves about an hour or so of your time. Interested? Telephone 01604 716044.

Local Branches – service seven areas of the county. Each branch has its own committee that organises social events, fundraising and generally looks after the well being of visually impaired people in and around their area. If you are interested, branches serve the following areas:

Brackley

Kettering

Oundle

Rushden

Towcester

Wellingborough
