NALSVI

nab is a founder member of the National Association of Local Societies for Visually Impaired People – nalsvi (registered charity no. 1048951)

nalsvi represents local societies on major national committees and facilitates regional and national networking between societies through regional meetings. The annual conference is the largest UK event dealing specifically with visual impairment issues.

nalsvi aims to improve services for blind and partially sighted people by campaigning at national and local levels and working in partnership with national organisations to promote national standards of service.

About nalsvi members:

  • nalsvi members collectively have direct contact with over 200,000 blind and partially sighted people.

  • nalsvi members currently operate 136 resource centres as well as 11 mobile resource units across the UK.

  • nalsvi members have information desks in 127 hospital eye clinics.

  • nalsvi members’ newsletters reach 137,000 visually impaired people.

  • nalsvi members are supported by 18,000 volunteers.
