Wardington Court Activity Centre plays
host to almost 6,500 visits by visually impaired people every year.
We have a fleet of 3 minibuses, driven by a team of loyal volunteers.
Visitors are of varying ages, abilities
and interests. A range of activities is offered, including ten
pin bowling, swimming, carpet bowls, blind cricket, sewing, knitting,
glass
and plate painting, general knowledge quizzes, a friendly game
of cards or, for the energetic there is a fitness suite.
As well as daytime activities the
Centre opens 2 evenings a week; archery, pottery, yoga and indoor
bowls are popular pastimes. One night a week there is a social
club when visually impaired visitors can enjoy a drink, play cards
or dominoes, or just socialise. Occasionally a local pub or club
is challenged to a games evening.
Wardington Court has its own resources
room selling a wide range of aids from liquid level indicators
to talking watches and microwaves. Items not in stock can be ordered. (Contact

RNIB –www.rnib.org.uk. A fully licensed bar adjoins a large hall equipped with a stage, professional lighting system and an induction loop for the hard of hearing. nab holds numerous fundraising and social events such as band nights, film supper race nights and concerts.
A twice-yearly diary of events and trips is published including visits to stately homes, the seaside, shopping trips, theatre trips (with audio description). At least once a year a 4-day holiday is organised.
Wardington Court is a busy, friendly
place, run by a dedicated team of staff and volunteers. However,
there is always a need for more enthusiastic volunteers to help
with everyday running and special occasions. If you enjoy the company
